Re: cost savings
and, though it is a pain, it holds the potential for companies to save big money in the future. Like you say it is going to happen at some point, so why not rip the bandage off now?

Re: cost savings
I agree  efficient energy management is a lost opportunity for businesses and consumers; I am certain that and evolved infrastructure with manufacturers and cities working togethr will help with the realizing the savings in the future and preventing energy issues.

Re: cost savings
The focus of smart energy monitoring always seems to be on the cost savings for building managers or owners... but it's rare to hear about the benefits to the utility companies who can start to impose differential pricing. So instead of one-price-fits-all (or none) service, utilities can start charging more or less for different kinds of customers -- just like there's a business class or coach seats on an airplane.... And perhaps in the future, there will be different energy taxes based on different usage. So the Tesla Model S charging in a million-dollar home would be taxed more than a GM Bolt or Toyota Prius..? (Gas taxes are becoming insufficient for funding road repairs now anyway.)

Re: cost savings
Same old story - establishing companies grumbling about replacing legacy operations and systems. But it's got to happen sooner or later

Re: cost savings
There are a few energy companies already implementing this technology.

Many utilities are still relying on old mechanical electric and gas operations. Totally inefficient in today's world, but the problem is that these implementations are not easy to put in place.

Re: cost savings
I agree Maryam, it's extreemly interesting. I've already seen a number of companies use this to great effect; in some instances it's given the business them to really grow an fulfill their potential.
