Re: Where there's a will...
I would hold out hope that the appointments of Wilbur Russ and Todd Rickets may signal a more "pro-business" effort--but again we will have to see.   It will certainly be interesting no doubt--the question is whether the US will continue to lead or be left behind.

Re: Where there's a will...
There is nothing wrong about wishing for the stars and pursuing ones' dreams--if we did not do that, we won't talk about "smart streets", "smart cities" & "smart homes".   We are limited by the power of our own imagination.

Re: predictions
As we embrace December and look to a new year, I continue to be hopeful, but cautious as we see the new Administration in the United States taking shape.    Some of the potential appointments is not frankly hopeful--for instance Linda McMahon for the Small Business Adminstration.

Just seeing pictures of how much grey hair Obama has developed since becoming president is enough of a stress indicator for me!

I am inline with you both @faryl, @maryam about running the huge enterprise called 'USA'. But i am not adverse t be part of public service as long as it's right fit for my abilities.

Agree with you about relying on private sector for funding going forward.

When it comes to new emerging US government I foresee that being a hindrance, looking / hearing the way things are being articulated.
